In the heart of Frankfurt, renowned retailer Asphaltgold has opened a curated sneaker and streetwear store. The new location features an integrated café bar that serves as a true eye-catcher, showcasing a checkered pattern made from two subtly different tile designs. The tiles are also used throughout the store as design elements, creating a seamless connection with the overall interior. We love how the custom, toned-down color combination stands out in a subtle way thanks to the checkered layout.

Located in Paris’ 10th arrondissement, Café Shin introduces the French capital to Seoul’s vibrant café culture. Our friends and frequent collaborators at Uchronia designed a space that harmonizes traditional Korean elements and modern design. The café features a mix of hammered metal, light wood, and walls lined with Japanese Washi paper, highlighting meticulous craftsmanship. At the rear of the café, a jjimjilbang (a traditional South Korean bathhouse) inspired room adds a unique touch. Our custom tiles unify the design, from subtle details to expansive surfaces and whether you’re inside or outside.

Custom kitchen brand <a target="_blank" href="https://baboon.amsterdam/palet">Baboon</a> approached us to help bring a unique design touch to their showrooms in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. To complement their kitchen fronts, they carefully selected a range of tiles, from bold poppy reds to rich earthy tones. This perfect match not only enhanced their showroom aesthetics but also led Baboon to integrate our tiles into their product offering. Now, customers can craft truly one-of-a-kind kitchens, blending custom fronts and countertops with our distinctive tiles. The great folks at <a href="https://reiters-wings.com/">Reiters-Wings</a> asked us to develop a unique tile for the flagship store of Danish clothing brand <a href="https://www.nn07.com/">NN.07</a>. The design stays true to the signature style of previous stores, but introduced new materials like our custom blue tiles. The tile design is inspired by an old cobalt-glazed Danish tile found on-site. Drawing inspiration from these historical tiles, we created a distinctive blend of effect glazes that produce a stunning contrast. The oxidation effect resembles an almost molten metal structure, which adds brightness to the tiles and gives the entire store an extra dimension.

Together with the team at Palet, we developed the perfect glaze and pattern that fits the brand identity of NN.07. We now apply these custom tiles in all the designs we make for the store interiors of this Scandinavian clothing brand.

Our classic marble pattern, featuring a combination of bright orange and soft pink, is installed as a vibrant kitchen splash-back designed by one of our favorite AD100-listed architects, Estudio Reciente. The well-balanced and exciting tile-arrangement is executed in a bold pattern that complements the pale yellow cabinets and stainless steel countertops beautifully. Additional bright orange details and the wooden paneling in the back bring the design together.

TTRS developed two custom closet-builds which showcase products in the store and are fully covered in our custom glazed tiles. By choosing two fairly different designs they created an eclectic and exciting dynamic that sets the tone for their store.

TTRS also went ahead and developed a shelving system that includes our tiles which are used all across the store.

Overview of the kitchen with our custom glazed tiles.

This is one of our favorite residential projects. Ask was to develop glazes that would work well with the Rouge Belge (a marble that is a mix of soft pink and red) material that was already part of the the home. We decided to develop a ton sur ton design with oxidized glazes. Because of the subtle color differences, each angle is different making the kitchen a living and breathing space. From up front the tiles almost look deep blue but with the reflection of the sunlight they show beautiful green accents. The designer decided to cover the full surface with tiles and keeping the space fairly abstract which we feel makes for a great contrast.

The team showed great attention to detail and kept pushing themselves to improve the glazes.

Beautiful establishment in Poland designed by the AD100 duo Paradowski Studio. The restaurant is unique in how it integrated different materials and textures into their design, making our tiles a natural fit. The designers chose a soft pistache glaze in combination with a custom glaze that is heavy in iron- and copper-oxides. The combination gives a wealth of texturing and a dark green glow that shows the richness of this particular glaze combination.

Design practice <a href="https://www.instagram.com/oddo.work/">ODDO</a> completed the renovation of a one-bedroom apartment in Vancouver. Despite a modest budget, the project achieved remarkable results with a bunch of creative and thoughtful solutions. Following a careful sampling process, the final choice of tile featured a stunning two-tone brown glazed tile, one of the additional options we included in their curated sample box. Used as a kitchen backsplash, the tiles beautifully complement the other materials, resulting in a cohesive and contemporary aesthetic.

Custom built kitchen with beautifully contrasting materials.

Beautiful residential project in a Danish design home. The kitchen is entirely custom-built using natural wood as panelling. Our tiles are used in two large niches, expanding on its&#039; already big contrast in terms of color. The combination of colors includes a copper-oxide which brings an almost metallic-like texture into the home.

Hoppenworth and Ploch opened their latest bakery next to their café in Frankfurt&#039;s old town. Aim was to make the most out of the limited space available through a simple layout that puts their baked goods and natural wines front and center. The bakery features a minimalist design enriched with warm, high-quality materials and vibrant accents, creating a welcoming and contemporary feel. Behind the design is the team at <a href="https://gerdesmeyerkrohn.de/en/">Gerdesmeyer Krohn</a> who collaborated with us to develop a custom tile combination for the counter, complemented by a stainless steel work surface that features an integrated glass and refrigerated display case.

Hoppenworth and Ploch

Ace & Tate used 3 different tile designs for their Berlin store.

After a successful collaboration for their Brussels store, Ace &amp; Tate approached us for their Berlin location in Prenzlauer Berg. They selected 3 different - somewhat minimalistic - tile designs that together deliver on a bold statement. With the distinctly different designs they were able to highlight various areas of the store, each featuring a unique color palette. Together, these elements come together to form a fun, vibrant, and dynamic space.

"For our fourth Berlin store in Prenzlauerberg, we teamed up with Palet and invited them to share their perspective on sustainability in retail design. We aim to use traceable, certified and low-impact materials."

The famous English coffee roaster opened several locations in 2022, working with different designers. For the Hanover location Modiste Studio decided to go for a beautiful mid-century approach. The combination of soft natural stone worked incredible well with the two custom glazes we developed.

Soft natural colors are brought to life by effect glazes we developed specifically for this project.

The bunker like exterior of the Orange House.

This was one of our first projects. A great design project which was all about bold statements, a bunker-like exterior full of the brightest orange accents.

Living room where multiple design elements are combined.

The exterior of the house is unique in its form, it looks as it were carved out of one big rock. The sense of stability the solid rock provides is embraced by the vivid orange. By using the orange as a primary color within the interior the owner intends to indulge the guest into a relaxing and inspirational environment.

Our tiles are used in the wet rooms in a classic marble print. The bright orange glaze in combination with a soft nude tone provides a stunning contrast.

Tamed Fox is a brunch spot in Tianmu, Taipei, inspired by the laid-back elegance of the West Coast. At its center is a structural column clad in Palet tiles, with the bar curving gently around it to set the tone of the space. Soft, rounded shapes—curved corners, warm wood finishes, and plush textures—offset the crisp lines of our tiles. Checkered details nod to the brand’s playful side, adding both rhythm and warmth. It’s a space designed for comfort, connection, and a great start to the day :).
