Placement instructions
All Palet tiles are packed with care. Each tile meets our quality standards and is packed with its placement and orientation in mind. For best results, install tiles in the same direction they were packed, and check that the “spray-mist” effect points the same way across all tiles.
All tiles are carefully aligned, and the spray mist is pointed in the same direction
The stipes do not align perfectly because some tiles are placed in another direction1. Lay Out the Tiles First
Before you start installing, we recommend laying out your tiles on a flat surface to plan your composition. This will help you visualise the final look and make the most of your design. Some of our patterns are created by combining two different tile types. If this applies to your order, your boxes will be labelled “A” and “B.” For the best results, alternate between an “A” tile and a “B” tile as you install.
2. Label or Mark Your Tiles
To make sure your desired pattern is placed correctly, especially when you’re focused on installation, it’s helpful to label or number the tiles using removable tape or a non-permanent marker. This keeps everything organised and easy to follow as you work.
3. Use a Laser Level and Spacers
Using the right tools ensures your tiles are perfectly aligned. A laser level helps you keep straight lines, and we recommend using 2 mm spacers for an even and consistent layout across the surface.
4. Adhesive Application
Porcelain tiles should be firmly fixed using a notched trowel to spread the adhesive evenly. Then, use the flat side of the trowel to smooth it out for a uniform, ridge-free layer. For extra strength, we also suggest back buttering, applying a thin layer of adhesive to the back of each tile. Choose a high-quality, ready-mixed wall tile adhesive suitable for ceramic or porcelain tiles and indoor vertical surfaces. Always check that it’s compatible with the size and weight of your tiles.
5. Grouting Tips
Use cement-based or epoxy grout. Only start grouting once the adhesive has fully set, refer to the product’s technical data sheet for exact drying times. Mix the grout into a smooth paste, then apply it with a grout float or rubber squeegee, filling all joints evenly. Carefully remove any excess without pulling grout from the lines. After about 30 minutes, clean off any remaining residue, or immediately if using epoxy grout. Treat with a grout protection afterwards.
6. Cutting the Tiles
Porcelain tiles are very durable, which makes them trickier to cut without the right equipment. For clean, accurate cuts, especially around sockets, taps, or pipes, we recommend using an electric tile cutter with a diamond-encrusted blade.
7. Care and Maintenance Tips
Use a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive pads.
